BRANCEPETH WOLSINGHAM ROAD NZ 23 NW (South side, off) 5/43 Barn, gin-gang and cart shed 20 metres west of South Brandon Farmhouse II
Barn, ging-gang and cart shed, now storage. Mid-late C18 barn of 2 builds, late C18-early C19 gin-gang, early C19 cart shed. Squared rubble with pantiled roofs. Barn with gin-gang on centre and cart-shed projecting across right return. Tall single-storey barn, 3 bays, with added 3-bay section to right of straight joint. Added section incorporates loft. Flush quoins. Large C20 vehicle opening at left, stone steps to boarded loft door at right and small added lean-to wood shed on right bay. Continuous steeply-pitched roof with swept eaves and raised verges. Rear of original section, facing farmyard, has Dutch door and flanking breathers. Rear of added section has Dutch door and flanking hit-and-miss windows with segmental brick heads. Large, semi-octagonal gin-gang has rectangular piers, rubble walls, C20 vehicle opening, with brick jambs, and pyramidal roof. Wide lean-to 3-bay cart shed has 3 square openings in front wall. Altered L-plan range of farmbuildings, on left rear of barn, are not of special interest.
