HAWKHURST THE MOOR TQ 7429-7529 (south side) 18/362 The Eight Bells Hotel GV II Inn. C18, extended mid Cl9. Timber framed and tile hung on painted brick ground floor, weather-boarded to rear, with plain tiled roof and slate-roofed extension. Two-storey main range with hipped roof and stacks to end right and to centre. Four glazing bar sashes on 1st floor with mullioned windows to right and to centre left. Half-glazed doors to centre and to left, both in large late C20 gabled porches (larger to left). Parallel hipped rear wing with projecting stacks and lean-to outshot. Extension to left (pre 1880), also 2 storeys, with gabled roof and stack to right. Three glazing bar sashes on 1st floor and 3 sashes grouped to right on ground floor, with canted oriel on left return.
