CORFE CASTLE THE SQUARE (North side) SY 96 82 7/121 Castle Tea Room and Garden (formerly listed as Castle 20.11.59 Cafe) including attached outbuildings GV II House, part used as tea room. Late C17 - early C18. Rubble stone walls, stone slate roof, plastered end stacks. 2 storeys and attic. 2 part-glazed battened doors under segmental arches. Ground floor has one casement with lead lights, and one square bay window with lead lights and moulded cornice. First floor has 4 casements with lead lights. Attic has 2 hipped dormers. Attached outbuildings on left, part stone, part brick, with stone slate roof, now used as garages. At right end a range of outbuildings at rear, single-storey, in matching construction. (RCHM, Monument 18. Dorset. Vol. II). A National Trust property.
