COTHERSTONE BALDERSDALE NY 91 NW 14/36 Clove Lodge Farmhouse, byre/ stables attached to west and range of sheds attached to east GV II Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings. Farmhouse of 2 builds: late C18 main block with mid C19 cottage to right. Early C19 farmbuildings. Dressed sandstone farmhouse and sheds; squared rubble byre/stable. Stone-flagged roofs and stone chimney stacks. Farmhouse with byre/stables to left and range of sheds to right.
Farmhouse: 2-storey, 3-bay main block has central gabled mid C19 porch with replaced door. Flanking replaced 4-pane sashes in tooled flush surrounds. Blank central bay above porch flanked by identical windows. Original doorway, within porch, has flush surround and projecting keystone. 2-storey cottage, of 2 narrow bays, with flush quoins to right: 6-panel door and 3-pane overlight with replaced 12-pane sash to right; identical window above. Roof with coped gables and a coping at junction. Stepped and corniced end and ridge stacks.
2-storey, 3-bay byre/stable, with loft, has flush quoins. Dutch door to left- and scattered openings (two 4-pane sashes and a partly-glazed hit-and-miss ventilator) to right. Low-pitched roof with coped left gable. Several courses of through stones on left return.
Single-storey, 3-bay range of sheds, attached to rear of right return of cottage, has a C20 double door in left bay and a boarded and a Dutch door to right.
