GV II
House with attached cottage to north. Early C18 with alterations in early C19 and late C20. Roughcast and painted sandstone rubble with dressed quoins; four rebuilt brick stacks; low-pitched, two-span hipped roof of renewed pantiles. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys, 3 x 3 bays with 2-storey, single-bay cottage attached to left return. Mainly renewed sashes. Central, canted porch with 4-panel door and pantiled roof; fire-insurance mark and mid-wall, round-arched staircase window above porch; 24-pane sash to left and two 16-pane sashes to right. Garden front: central,Tuscan doorcase with panelled reveals and soffit, 4-panel, partly-glazed door and overlight; 16-pane sashes, slightly bowed on plan, to left and right on ground and first floors; 16-pane sash above doorway. Slightly- swept roof with plain, close eaves. Two rendered, lateral stacks rise from left and right returns and have ornamental, square-plan chimneypots.
Interior: mainly renewed but retains several 6-panel doors and window shutters; cut-string, open-well staircase of three flights has two stick balusters per tread supporting a wreathed and ramped handrail.
Detached barn to west of house not of special interest.
