Details

HEWELSFIELD GENERAL SO 50 SE 6/36 Monument to JOHN PHILLIPS in the churchyard c8m south of the priest's door to the chancel of the church of St Mary Magdalen GV II Chest tomb. Late C17. Sandstone. Thick flat top to chamfered edge, square quarter balusters, panels with sunk margins to north and south, chamfered base part sunk at time of survey, November, 1983. To John Phillips, 1793: on the south side some good sharp-cut lettering.
