TL 6222 GREAT DUNMOW CHURCH STREET (W side) 7/21 No. 5 and 7

GV II

Cottages and shop, C17/C18, timber framed and plastered with gabled peg tile roof and gable end stacks. Two storeys with on the first floor 2 canted bay windows of old cast-iron and timber, leaded light casements and one 2 light C19 timber casement. No. 5 has a similar canted bay window a doorcase with a concave 'tent' roofed doorcase on scroll brackets and 6 panel door. In the centre is an C19 shopfront, very complete with square small paned shop window bay on a brick plinth, door with margin glazed light, a continuous flat roof over this and window, supported on a corner, scroll bracket. No. 7 has a 2 light C19 casement and door. The roof has side purlins and there are simple iron railings in front of the domestic parts.
