6/99 Castle Farmhouse
GV II
House, later C18. South front squared stone, other elevations squared rubble; tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings; graduated stone slate roof. H-plan of 2-storey north/south block flanked by single-storey wings, with small extension to west.
South elevation: 2-storey centre bay flanked by single-storey bays. Centre has plinth, 1st floor band (continued as eaves cornice on side parts), 1st floor sill band and stepped eaves cornice. 4-pane sash windows with flat- arched lintels and slightly-projecting sills. Hipped roof with several small lateral stacks on each return. Right return shows 4-panel door, 6-pane fixed stair window and eaves cornice. Rear 12-pane sashes; small pent extension to right wing has two 4-pane Yorkshire sashes on its end.
Asbestos-roofed outbuilding attached to south-west wing is not of interest.
