Details

BRADFORD STREET 1. 885 (East Side) BOCKING Nos 40 and 42 TL 7623 2/11 25.10.51. II GV 2. An C18 and C19 timber-framed and plastered house built on the site of an early Cl6 house part of which, with a C17 extension, remains at the rear. 3 storeys, 3 window range, double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in cased frames, except central window which is C20. A central 6-panel door with the upper panels glazed has a Doric doorcase with pilasters, triglyph frieze and cornice. The door is approached by steps. A C20 doorway to No 42 adjoins. Roofs slate. RCHM (42).

All the listed buildings from No 24 to No 56A on the east side form a group with No 37 to No 89 (with Nos 57, 61, 61A) on the west side.
