II
Farmhouse. Bread cupboard dated 1673 but possibly C18. Painted stone rubble with slate roof, end bay not painted. 2 storeys, 4 bays, the end bay possibly originally stable. Slate dripcourse over ground floor. Windows have casements. Entrance has open gabled porch with benches. Left return has lean-to extension. Right return has inserted windows with slate-hung lintels. Gable-end stacks and cross-axial stack. Rear has 2 gabled wings; stone stairs to upper level entrances. Property of the National Trust, the gift of Beatrix Potter.
