Handed pair of cottages. Late C18. Timber framed, plastered, roof thatched. 4
bays facing SW, with central stack. 3 small, lean-to extensions to rear. One
storey with attics. 3 C18 2-light windows, each with one wrought iron casement
and rectangular leaded panes, and 2 more in slated swept dormers. 2 C20 slated
gabled porches with doors at the front. Monogram RB (for Ruggles-Brise) in oval
plaque in centre of front elevation. Roof half-hipped at both ends. One
similar window in each return elevation, at first floor level. The main members
of the frame are of good quality imported pine. Some of the wrought iron
casements retain the original spring latches.
