Part of inn, now a house. C15, altered in late C19. Timber framed, roughcast rendered, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 3 bays aligned NE-SW (gabled to street), with continuous jetty on right side, now underbuilt, and external stack on left side. 2 storeys and cellar. One-window range of late C19 3-light casements with drip-moulds, and one smaller casement on first floor. Half-glazed door. This building originally formed the NW parlour range of a C15 courtyard inn 'The Blue Boar', later called 'The George', the remainder demolished in 1841. This part was retained as an elementary school until replaced by the purpose-built school in Park Lane in 1871. The cellar is original. Moulded and stop-chamfered beams and joists, and original window openings. (Wherein I Dwell, Earls Colne WEA, 1983, 55).
