Late C19 Reading Room. Red brick; slate roof with half-hipped gable front with modillion brick cornice along edges. Two storeys. First floor with central 4-light casement beneath low pointed brick arch and with Gothic trefoil tops to window glazing. Central pair of windows are doors opening onto balcony across whole of building. Ground floor with entrance porch on left hand beneath part of balcony and a big bay window on the right beneath the rest. Listed for group value.
