RAYRIGG ROAD 1. 1834 Rayrigg Hall SD 4098 1/56 8.5.50. II*

2. Rayrigg Hall and the Hall Farmhouse form a group, being almost attached. Early C18. Roughcast stone rubble walls, old slate roof, 2 Storeys Slate dripstones and sills. Irregular plan. Wood mullioned windows with leaded panes. Small irregular courtyard, with stable and coach-house now part of the dwelling. East entrance front has centre gabled porch and flanking gabled wings, all with wood mullioned and transomed windows of 6 or 8 lights with leaded panes. 2 large chimneys (clusters of 3 round chimneys joined together). South side towards lake has 3 12-paned sash windows on each floor, and flanking 2-storeyed bow windows with 3 sashes. West end has a modern bow window in centre, and a small modern glazed link to stable block (exclude).
