1. 5135 MARKET SQUARE (South Side) Stony Stratford Nos 14 and 15 [No 15 formerly listed as The Malpas Private and Commercial Hotel] SP 7840 1/68 12.6.55.


2. A much repaired and rebuilt house with a C19 front. The interior has some C17 details. 3 storeys with shallow pitched late slate roof; 2nd and 3rd storeys late red brick,3 windows to both - central one blind, cambered arched heads plain reveals, single light sash 2nd floor, 3 light to 1st floor. Ground floor cement rendered and painted, has 2 small wooden framed b windows; the right hand one retains original glazing bars. The left hand window altered to a 3 light bay, the lights having depressed sashes. These windows are linked across the front of the house by a deep entablature with dentilled cornice bowed at ends with windows. Paired doors in centre with simple wooden case, flanked by pilasters.

Nos 36 to 40 (even) Church Street form a group with Stratford House, Mill Lane and all the listed building in the Market Square.
