ST J0HN'S COLLEGE 1. 942 Gate to Trinity Piece South-east of the 'Wilderness' TL 4458 16/297 II* 2. Erected 1780 in a different positon, in the present position in 1822. Probably from the Horseheath Hall sale of 1777, so from early or mid C18. Elaborate wrought-iron gates with two pairs of flanking piers and overthrow with college badge. (RCHM.)
