21.6.55 - II
House. Late C16-C17 with C20 repairs. Timber frame with brick infill, the upper storey with panels of thin brick, partly herringbone. Rear wall rebuilt, rendered and whitewashed. Old tile roof, half-hipped to left; chimney to right of centre, the lower part of thin brick, the top rebuilt. L-plan with gabled cross wing to right. One storey and attic, 3 full bays and a chimney bay. Irregular C20 leaded casements, those to upper storey of left bays of 4 lights in gabled eaves-line dormers with sills on C17 shaped wooden brackets. Chimney bay has small semi-circular oven projection and old 2-light leaded casement to right. C20 door in right bay. Left gable has an old 3-light window with diamond mullions. Stop-chamfered spine beams, diagonal wind-braces. RCHM I p.55 Mon. 3.
