WISBECH MUSEUM SQUARE TF 4609 (West Side) 6/120 Castle Vaults GV II

C17, brick tunnel vaults with long central east-west passage covering an area approximately 70 x 90 feet which suggests they were built specifically for the C17 mansion. The well and some earlier wall materials may have mediaeval origins. Entrance to the vaults faces east and was built by Joseph Medworth c.1816 for access to the well. G.
