11/151 Cottage with shop, within curtilage of No. 10
II
Cottage with shop. Probably late C18/early C19. Local gault brick with plain-tiled mansard roof with original ridge stack. Gable end to road. One storey and attic. Gable end has two windows, the lower boarded, the upper mesh covered, and a doorway, blocked, probably to a former shop. There is a doorway and window both blocked or sealed to the side wall of the cottage part and a small garage door to the rear. INTERIOR. Large open fireplace to ground floor rear room now garage/storage. This has a moulded wooden surround. Simple stair to first floor with top stick balustrade. The front former bedroom has a small early C19 fireplace with moulded wooden surround and cast-iron grate. 4-panel door. This is a little-altered example of a small cottage cum shop of the period which forms part of a group.
