Cottage. C17, refaced and extended in C20. Timber frame encased in brick, except for end gables which are weatherboarded. Gable- ended thatched roof clad in corrugated iron sheets. Brick axial stack. Plan: 3-room plan with entrance lobby in front of axial stack with back-to-back fireplaces serving central hall and parlour to right; the left end unheated inner room is now used as an outbuilding. C20 outshut at rear of right hand room. Exterior: 1 storey and attic. Asymmetrical 2-window north front. 2 C20 metal frame casements on ground floor with flush panel door between to right of centre. To left of centre a small gabled dormer breaks eaves. At rear plank door on right, French casements at centre and C20 outshut on left. Interior: Central room has chamfered axial beam with cyma stops and large fireplace with C18/C19 moulded shelf and circa early C19 inserted cupboards with reeded moulding around panels either side of small inserted fireplace. The roof space is ceiled but rafter ends are visible where plaster has been broken into and the roof structure appears to be intact.
