Cottage,formerly the British School. Built for the non conformist community. Inscribed imposts 'W WALTERS', 'BUILDER 1809'. Gault brick with hipped slated roof. One storey. Wide segmental arched panel with stone imposts to west elevation with boarded door in round headed brick arch to right hand, and two pivot hung windows recessed in segmental brick arches. Two shuttered windows in south elevation with original patterned glazing bars. Samuel Dodkin (d.1808), a dissenter left an endownment for a school.
