Details
ORWELL HIGH STREET TL 3650 (South side) 14/265 Barn at No. 68 II
Barn restored and part now converted to house. A scratching has the date 1747 and initials VCM. The date 1828 inscribed in the west wall may be the date of a rebuilding or addition. Coursed clunch on brick plinth, tarred. Pantiled roof originally thatched. Nine bays including two bays at south end, converted to a dwelling. Aisled on east side. Interior has braced tie beams and Queen strut roof trusses.
