PIDLEY-CUM-FENTON OLD HURST ROAD 1. 5140 Pidley TL 37 NW 4/17 24.10.51 Stanley Farmhouse II* 2. Circa 1700 L-plan farmhouse. Red brick. Plain tiled, hipped roof with modillion eaves cornice to front and dentil eaves cornice to sides and rear. End and ridge stacks. Two-storeys and attics. Band course between floors. Two hipped dormers. Symmetrical front elevation of five hung sashes with open boxing, slender glazing bars and segmental heads. Gauged brick segmental arches. Central doorway. Doorcase has moulded architrave and flat canopy carried on scroll brackets. Door of six raised and fielded panels and two glazed upper lights. First-floor East room has original raised and fielded panelling in two heights with moulded cornice and dado. Mid C18 main staircase of two flights and landing. Open string with turned and fluted balusters to each tread. Panelled dado. Circa 1700 back staircase. Flat section twisted balusters. C19 wing to angle at rear. (RCHM Huntingdonshire Mon 6 p 204).
