2. C17, altered C18 and later. T shaped plan, probably built originally as 2 cottages with the rear range as a later addition. 2 storeys. Modern entrance extension on north side and 1 storey range at east end. Street block originally double fronted with 2 windows; former doorway converted for use as window. Rear range also formerly double fronted with 3 windows; old entrance blocked. Tiled roof; front block with gable-ridge stack of red brick; rear range with large, altered stack centrally on south side. Timber framed with brick ground floor and rough-cast finish. 1st floor of rear range with original 3 and 2 light casement windows with leaded lights and flush frames, modern windows to match. Modern entrance. Interior altered, but still retaining some chamfered beams with carved stops.

Nos 1, 3 and the Chequers Inn form a group.
