CLAPTON IN GORDANO C.P. NAISH HILL (west side) ST 47 SE 4/11 Little Naish G.V. II

Gardener's cottage, now house. c. 1830-40. Rubble with limestone dressings, ashlar parapet and slate roofs. Perpendicular Gothic style. 3-stage tower has polygonal stair turret with weathered buttress, string courses, lancets and gargoyles below embattled parapet, tower has single light casement with cusped ogee head, square hood mould and mask stops at first floor, string courses continued, gargoyles and embattled parapet; single storey wing to south and east, to south with two 2-light casements with leaded lights and door, to east with 2-light casement with glazing bars, all with hood mould. Left return has canted bay to each side of south wing, with C20 glazing to left return and leaded lights to rear; tower has 4-centred arched double door, similar window at first and 2nd floor. Rear of tower has 4-centred arched window with 4-light casement at ground floor, similar first floor window and polygonal stack with cusped panels to sides. Part of the extensive service and garden buildings of the former Naish House (burnt and demolished), all in a Gothic style.
