Details

CLAPTON IN GORDANO C.P. NAISH HILL (west side) ST 47 SE 4/12 The Lodge G.V. II Lodge, now house. c. 1830-40, with C20 addition to rear. Rubble, limestone dressings, double Roman tiled roof, rendered rear addition. Central block with wing to each side; Perpendicular Gothic style. Single storey, front has gable end with bargeboards, central canted bay has 2 lights to front and one to each side, all cusped ogee heads and leaded lights; single storey wing to each side has small single light with hood mould and C20 leaded lights, parapet and coping and raised coped verges to left, stack rising from left side of main gable. Right return of wing has 2 gable ends; to left, doorway has 4-centred arch and hood mould, door with raised fillets and glazed panels. Rear of wing has 2 C20 windows in reconstructed stone, single storey addition to rear with door, single C20 light and garage door with gable over. Part of the extensive service and garden buildings of the former Naish House (burnt and demolished), all in a Gothic style.
