Details
YATTON C.P. CADBURY FARM ROAD (south side) ST 46 NW 5/144 Cadbury Farmhouse - II Farmhouse. Early C17 origin with later C17 rear wing, refronted at right angles to original range in early C19 with later alterations. Rubble, rendered, pantiled roof with brick ridge and gable stacks. Originally 3-room through passage plan with rear wing, C19 re-fronting incorporating end room and rear wing (possible originally stable). C19 front of 2 storeys and 4 windows, ground floor has two 16-pane sashes and central panelled and glazed door with triangular hood on wooden piers, three 12-pane sashes under eaves all in exposed boxes; bay to right has similar 12-pane sash under eaves. Left return has blank main gable end, 2-storey block attached to left with 3-light casement at first floor, rear wing to left (formerly front) has door with strap hinges in plain frame and 2-light casement to left, two 2-light casements under eaves, early frame remaining to left; rear gable end of wing has large external stack with oven at base, raised verges. Right return has former stable door with strap hinges and ventilation grille; gable end of early rear wing to right has C20 2-light casement at ground floor and C19 2-light casement at first floor, glazed porch attached to right; rear of early range has roof extended to single storey level, with 1/2-glazed door in porch and 3-light C20 casement, single storey small addition to right with door and 4-pane light. Interior: end room (former room to left) has deep-chamfered and stopped beams, roof over early range said to contain curved principals. C19 straight stair, front rooms have C19 features.
