6/66 Row of Ashes Farmhouse 9.2.61 G.V. II

Farmhouse. Early C17 with C18 addition refronted in the early C19. Squared and coursed rubble with concrete parapet to south front, limewashed render to rear and side walls, wooden lintels, slate roofs and rendered and ashlar stacks. 2 storey, 5-bay south front. Windows are early C19 sashes with cast iron marginal glazing bars: 2 to ground floor left hand, 2 to upper floor with 2 further blocked openings. 1 additional upper C20 sash and two C20 doors to ground floor right hand. Further, central, door with moulded architrave and flat hood on carved brackets much decayed with 1 supporting post. 6-panel door with 2 rectangular fanlights. End ashlar stacks, that to left part rendered. Rear facade of 3 gabled projections, the central one advanced, of 2 storeys and attics. 4-light oak mullions to ground floor under wooden lintels and hoodmoulds; some renewal of sills. 3-light casements in original openings on 1st floor, 2-light mullions to end attic gables, plank door to central attic gable, all under hoodmoulds. 1 tall rendered stack on central avanced section. 2 lead cross gutters with embossed vine decoration. Interior. Several stop chamfered beams, large inglenook in stone flagged central ground floor room and newel staircase.
