ST 78 SE SODBURY LYEGROVE

2/122 Lodge to Lyegrove House, gates, gate piers and walls

Dated 1835 in gable over door. Probably by Charles Dyer (of Bristol). Gothic style. Ashlar. Slate roof. Octagonal ashlar stacks. T plan. One storey. Y tracery windows under hoodmoulds with return stops. Castellated parapet with curved and stepped gables containing blank quatrefoils.

Four centred arch doorway faces drive.

In front of lodge, 4 ashlar gate piers with trefoil headed panels and ball finials. Ashlar quadrant walls terminating in piers. Simple cast-iron gates.
