Details

ST 7282 SE SODBURY BROAD STREET 5/32 (south side) Nos 72 and 74 GV II

Pair of late C18 houses with C17 gabled wing to right now forming part of No 72. Main block: rubble with double Roman tile roof, brick stack. Two storeys. Four windows, sashes with vertical glazing bars in moulded surrounds. Ground floor has modern shop front to No 74 and modern bay under heavy fascia to No 72. Modern doorways. Extension to right of No 72: rubble with brick alterations. Pantile, slate and double Roman tile roofs. Two storeys. One window (off centre) to gabled section; sashes with single glazing bar in flush moulded timber frames, both ground and first floor windows being squat in shape. Coach entrance, with heavy timber frame with chamfers, widened at impost and with projecting bracket to right hand side. Jettied first floor, C19 gable with fretted barge board, applied timbering.
