2/36 Priston Place
G.V. II House. c.1820 possibly incorporating earlier work. Ashlar, coursed rubble with freestone dressings, slate roofs. Main block, garden elevation: 2 storeys, 3 windows, ground floor has 2-light cross windows with pointed heads, multipane casements with gothick tracery under hoodmoulds, centre has 3 lights, first floor has 2-light chamfered mullion casements under hoodmoulds, central bay breaks forward slightly under shallow, thinly detailed pediment, cornice, low parapet; entrance elevation has 3 similar first floor windows, that to left blank, central flat porch with parapet, storm doors flanked by 2 lights each side all under hoodmould, to right ground floor is a 3-light mullion window with central sash under hoodmould; rear elevation of main block has at ground floor one C20 15-pane window, first floor has one 2-light casement, oversailing eaves. Lower, 2 storey office wing has 4 windows, all 2-light casements with chamfered mullions, at ground floor, 2 pointed arch doors flank a segmental headed stable entry; further single storey wing has plain porch, recessed behind pointed gateway and one sash; at rear of this and offices, fenestrated as front is a lean-to conservatory. Interior: not inspected.
