House and attached walls. Early C19 with mid C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Rendered, hipped slate roofs with deep eaves on wooden brackets with ashlar stacks, sandstone rubble walls. 2 storeys and 2 windows, ground floor has sash to each side of C20 flat-roofed glazed porch with pilasters, 6-panelled door in moulded frame, French window to right; first floor has two 16-pane sashes with external shutters. Attached to right, rubble wall about 4 metres high and extending about 9 metres, ramped down to pointed arched doorway, with ammonites set in rubble. Right return has 3 canted bays through 2 storeys, each with French window to front with margin glazing, 12-pane casement to each side, 2 bays to right have overlight also with margin glazing; at first floor each bay has central 16-pane sash with 8-pane sash to each side, except central bay with 20-pane front sash, attached wrought iron conservatory along whole of ground floor. Rear wing set back to right has single storey addition in rubble, coped, with 4-light window and pointed arched door to rear, first floor right has 8-pane sash and sash, canted bay to right with 16-pane sash to front and 8-pane sash to each side. Left return has tall round-headed stair light, 12 panes in lower section, splayed glazing bars above; rear wing slightly set back has 2 round headed windows of varied sizes with splayed glazing bars at ground floor, 2 similar round-headed sashes at first floor; later C19 service wing attached to left of 2 storeys, has two 4-pane sashes at ground floor and two 2-light casements under eaves with external shutters, small clock tower above with pitched roof and large clock; left return of wing has 2-light and 3-light casement at ground floor and door with overlight, two 2-light and one 3-light casement under eaves, door to left in lean-to. Attached to rear, single storey addition with hipped roof c.1930 with 12-light mullion and transom window with leaded lights. Rear has 2 doors, 2-light casement and 10-pane light to rear of service wing, sandstone rubble single storey addition to rear of right return, not rendered. Interior: not accessible.
