4/5 Gatepiers 200 metres east of The Caves G.V. II

Gatepiers. Early C19. Unworked stone, pair of roughly fashioned gatepiers on the path to Banwell Monument (q.v.); square section with cornice and pyramidal cap; 2.5 metres high. One of an extensive set of picturesque estate features erected by the antiquarian Bishop Law of Bath and Wells on his Banwell estate.
