Details

SX 07 NW ST KEW 5/175 Tregildren Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. Circa late C17 or early C18. Slate rubble and cob. Asbestos sheet roof with gable ends. Rendered brick shafts to chimney stacks on gable ends with stone rubble chimney stack on gable end of rear service wing. Plan: two room and cross passage plan probably comprising hall and parlour heated by gable end stacks. Kitchen in probably contemporary wing on rear right heated by end stack. Two storeys. Almost symmetrical three window front. Two circa C19 4-pane sashes with timber lintels on ground floor, the left hand window with remains of a slate string above. C20 part glazed door near centre in circa C19 stone rubble porch with hipped slate roof. First floor with three C20 2-light casements in original openings. The front range is extended on the left hand gable end by a C19 barn which is not of special interest and not included. Rear elevation of two storeys, circa late C19 outshut to rear of main range. Contemporary rear wing, partly slate hung with gable end partly rebuilt; C19 sashes and C20 glazed door. Interior: not accessible but has circa late C19 ceiling beams and C20 grate in left hand room. Partitions remain. Rear wing with C19 interior.
