850/8/10014 Burmester Gate at Mickleham Parish Church

Gateway and gates in form of folly. Circa 1870. Wooden, including poles and wattles, with cast iron ornamentation and studs and tiled roof. Front to churchyard has round-headed arch and double pilasters filled-in with wattles with a tiled gable above, also decorated with pieces of wattles. Rear has arch and two square pilasters of horizontal wattles and poles. Attached wooden gates, each having 6 open panels with iron studs, decorative dog grates and trefoil-shaped finials. This was on the path between the Old Rectory and St Michael's Church and is a garden folly as well as a gateway.
