5/61 Ice House in grounds of Norton Priory

Ice house, probably C18, in brick under earth mound. Beehive shaped with floor almost at ground level approached along a short tunnel into a chamber circular on plan and domed. The structure is covered by an earth mound with minor stone retaining walls at its entrance. Now secured by a modern door.
