Details
BEESTON C.P. CASTLE ROAD SJ 55 NW 5/5 Beech Tree Cottage - GV II House. C17 with C19 additions and alterations. Timber framed with brick infill and plain tile roof with C19 gabled wing at right of snecked stone. Entrance front: C17 portion at left having a stone plinth supporting 9 x 2 cells of small framing with angle and tension braces. Central ground floor canted oriel with a canted, hipped roof probably in the place of a former doorway. To the left is a 3-light casement window and to the right is a similar 2-light window. Above is a 3-light gabled dormer window. To the right is the C19 gabled wing which has a door at the right of the ground floor and a 3-light window to the right with a heavy stone lintel over. Timber framed gable above with brick infill and a 3-light C20 casement window. The left hand gable end has 5 x 3 cells of small framing with small framing to the gable.
