GV II

Hall: dated 1789 on rainhead, mid C19 alterations. White pointed Flemish bond red brick, buff sandstone dressings, hipped Welsh slate roof of 2 parallel ranges, 2 brick chimneys. Square in plan. 2-storey, symmetrical3-bay north front. Plinth, band at 1st floor sill level, simple cornice. Central bay projects forward slightly under a triangular pediment with obelisk finial and containing blocked elliptical light with black painted grille. Heavy Tuscan doorcase with semi-circular headed door with radial glazing bars. 2-light wooden casements with painted cambered brick heads. End bays have similar 3-light windows and 2-light windows in top storey. West front has 6 blocked windows. Interior: 4-panelled pine doors and open well staircase with turned balusters and heavy newels. Simple marble fireplaces and ornate brick surround to kitchen range.
