5/12 Hoofield Hall.
GV II
Farmhouse: c1870 for John Tollemache. Flemish bond orange brick with purple headers. Purple tile roof and 4 brick chimneys with clusters of diamond stacks. 2-storey symmetrical 5-bay south front. Plinth, band at 1st floor. End pairs of bays are under barge-boarded and pendant-finialled gables with some real and some painted timber framing. Tall 2-light wooden casements under segmental brick heads below. Central gabled porch with decorated truss has studded half-glazed door with ornate hinges behind. Windows in sides and rear retain lozenge shaped glazing bars. Interior: little of interest except for cheese oven with wooden doors in the office.
The standard large farmhouse built on the Tollemache Estate.
