Details
AGDEN C.P. MALPAS ROAD (B5395) SJ 54 SW (West Side) 5/3 Stables and barn forming west side of Agden Hall farmyard and shippon forming north side of yard. GV II Farm buildings containing stables, former barn and shippon. Probably early C19, of brown brick with roof re-covered in corrugated asbestos. 2 storeys. Stable and barn: lower storey has 4 divided doors in recessed round-arched openings, and 2 casements under camber arches; barn entrance has ventilating panel of rat-trap bond brickwork above; triangular breathers to stables; diamond breathers to hayloft. Stone-coped gables. A 1-storey link, similarly detailed, but with C20 1-storey outshut at front, links the barn to the shippon. Shippon on north side of yard was extended at east end later C19. One divided door with recessed wood lintel and 1 blocked doorway. 4 hoppers under camber arches; 2 loophole breathers to cowshed. Hayloft has 2 pitching eyes and 2 diamond breathers. The newer part has an altered casement to lower storey with open front to upper storey filled with corrugated iron. Wide sliding door inserted, with concrete lintel, in east gable. Brick outshut with corrugated asbestos roof along rear.
