Headstone, mid C18, of sandstone, inscribed In Memory of Samuel Hopley Poet late of Duckington who left this life in hope for a better September the 11th 1769 Aged 66. Also here lyeth the remains of John Son of Samuel Hopley of Duckington who Departed this life November the 6th 1791 Aged..... Elizabeth the Daughter of Samuel Hopley of Duckington Died July 25th 1741 aged 10. Also Mary the Daughter of John and Mary Hopley of Duckington who departed this life..May 1771... A headstone recording an unusual profession.
