MELBECKS BLADES SD 99 NE 15/77 House of Guisborough Grammar School with attached cottage and outbuilding

GV II House, cottage and outbuilding under 1 roof. C17, C18 and later. Rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys with rear outshut. 4 first floor windows in all. Central C20 4-panel door in ashlar stone surround with straight tooling, on plinth. To right, 1 bay of 4-pane sash windows. To left, added bay of 4-pane sash windows. End stacks. Cottage to right has part-glazed C20 door in plain stone surround on right, with 3-light double-chamfered mullioned window to left on ground floor, 4-pane sash window above, shaped kneeler and ashlar coping on right. Added outbuilding to left, with board door in ashlar stone surround with interrupted jambs, and 4-pane sash window above, shaped kneeler and ashlar coping on left.
