MELBECKS FEETHAM SD 99 NE (north side) 15/85 Peat Gate House and cottage to left, Moor View and cottage to left

GV II 4 cottages under 1 roof. C17 and later. Rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. First cottage: C18. 2 bays. Quoins to left. Central C20 part-glazed door in ashlar surround. On right, a doorway now a window, in surround with interrupted jambs. Other windows: 4-pane sashes in ashlar surrounds. End stacks. To left, another bay added c1950. Second cottage, Moor View: late C17 and early C18. 3 first floor windows. Central C20 4-panel door with quoined surround. To left: fire window with chamfered stone surround, and 3-light chamfered mullioned window; on first floor, 6-pane sashes in chamfered stone surrounds. To right: on each floor, moulded architrave to sash window with glazing bars. End stacks. Third cottage: dated 1693, and mid C18. 2 bays. Vestiges of quoins. Central 4-panel door with quoined jambs and lintel inscribed 'I C 1693'. Board door in secondary opening to right. Fire window with chamfered surround to left, other windows have sashes with glazing bars in ashlar surround. End stacks. Right-hand half has been absorbed into Peat Gate House. Fourth cottage, Peat Gate House: late C18. 3 bays. Openings have ashlar surrounds. Doorway between bays 1 and 2 with 6-panel door. In bay 3, a board door in surround with interrupted jambs. Sash windows with glazing bars. Shaped kneeler, ashlar coping to right. 3 ridge stacks.
