Gate piers approximately 75 metres north of Church of St Paulinus
(formerly listed as Old Gateway to Brough Hall, Catterick Road)

4 gate piers, screen walls, 2 gates. Early - mid C19. Sandstone ashlar,
wrought-iron gates. Inner 2 gate piers: square in plan. Each has plinth
with ovolo moulding; shaft with rusticated bands alternately plain and
vermiculated with c1979 lettering "BROUGH PARK" on central plain bands;
frieze with large single paterae and guttae; cap with 3 small paterae,
surmounted by urn draped with swags. Outer 2 gate piers similar with
vermiculation only on front and back faces and plain caps with rounded tops.
Screen walls quadrant in plan, plain having square terminals with rounded
tops. Gates to outer interstices only, having plain bars with quadrant
upper rails and 2 lower bracing rails of opposed segments. Originally at
2217 9850, moved to present site in 1979.
