8/53 Beamsley Mill
II
Mill, now stores and attached house. Mid to late C18. Ashlar and rubblestone, graduated stone slate roof. 3 storeys, 3 bays with lower 2-storey wing to left-hand side of 3 bays. Mill: double board door, segmental arch with voussoirs. To right a board door, above large door is a board door. All windows are C20 casements set in plain stone surrounds, upper 2 storeys of right-hand bay set back approximately 3 metres. 2-storey wing: board doors to right of left-hand bay and right of right-hand bay. C20 casements between and above. To right, wheel chamber with small board opening and pigeon holes above. Interior: no mill workings left, apart from an overshot iron wheel of approximately 8 metres in diameter.
