Details

SE 04 NW FARNHILL NEWBY ROAD 3/75 10.9.54 Nos 15, 17 and 19 (formerly listed as Nos 15 and 17) GV II

Two cottages and a shop of late C17 or early C18. Coursed rubble with stone slate roof. Two storeys. Large quoins. No 15 has a double chamfered surround to the ground floor, now glazed with a small recent bow, and a former 4-light window on first floor now lacking all mullions. Doorway with cyma surround and eliptical head. Panel over doorway with "IHRH" in reaised lettering. No 17 has a double chamfered stone mullion window of 2 lights to ground floor and plain surround to doorway. Modern plank door. To first floor a 3-light double chamfered stone mullion window. Inside is a large elliptical-headed stone fireplace with cyma surround. No 19 (the shop) has an unmoulded doorway and shop window, and one 3-light double chamfered stone mullion window to first floor.
