Details

THRESHFIELD MAIN STREET SD 9863-9963 (east side) 9/113 Manor House Barn 10.9.54 GV II Barn. Dated 1661. Possibly for the Hammond family. Gritstone rubble, graduated stone slate roof. 4 bays, storeyed at each end, the left bay recessed. Quoins. Board double doors to cart entrance, bay 3, which has quoined jambs and segmental arch . Bay 1: byre door with quoined jambs to right, under flat porch formed by landing of straight flight of external steps from left; square opening left again; chamfered quoined jambs to first-floor doorway. Right return: 3 doors with triangular heads under square chamfer, that to left has raised letters, "M.H." to the lintel, that to the right has the date "1661"; single-light window in ovolo-moulded surround to centre first floor. Interior not examined at resurvey.
