Details
INGLETON SD 67 SE 9/2 Twistleton Manor Farmhouse 20.2.58 - II Farmhouse, dated 1717 with later C18, C19 and C20 alterations. Slobbered squared rubble, painted stone dressings, stone slate roof. Central staircase plan. 2 storeys, double fronted. Central entrance in mid-C18 gabled porch, moulded surround, pulvinated frieze and pedimented gable. Moulded surround to entrance, keyed lintel inscribed: B C I 1717 plank door. Left-hand ground floor 2 light flat faced mullioned window with moulded surround. Right-hand single light with moulded surround and additional similar light added to right to create a 2-light window. Upper floor left-hand 2-light flat faced mullioned window with moulded surround and 2 right-hand lights. C19 four-pane sashes. Massive gable end ridge stacks, that to right projects and rests on 2 stone corbels, now hidden by lower 2 storey extension: righthand entrance has C20 door. Left-hand 2 light flat faced mullioned window with moulded surround and similar but single light upper floor windows. Interior: early C18 dog-leg stairs supported by stone pillar in cellar, closed string, turned balusters, moulded handrail; stone steps to first floor, oak stairs to attic. First floor: some H and butterfly hinges to 2-panel doors. Strap hinges to plank door in attic. Two king post roof trussed with chamfered tie beams and collared king post.
