9/43 The Watch House (formerly listed 25/2/52 as Old Watch House)

GV II

House. Late C18. Coursed, squared gritstone, horizontally punched, stone slate roof. Polygonal, Gothick style. 2 storeys, entered from side. Apsidal canted end has central 2-light blind window to each floor flanked by similar glazed windows. All with Y-tracery, pointed arches and leaded lights to glazed openings. Projecting embattled parapet. Hipped roof with 3 diagonal-set ashlar stacks on common plinth. Panelled door in right return with deep stone lintel.
