4/19 Ye Olde Stone House 30 metres to north- west of Hardwick Cottage
II
House, now used as cow-house. C17, with later alterations. Large rough-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 2 cells. Quoins. Doorway with composite jambs and deep lintel has stop-chamfered surround. Double-chamfered mullioned windows throughout. 4-light window to left lacks one mullion. Other windows lack all mullions. Altered window to right. 1st floor has 2 windows formerly of 3 lights. Right hand gable partly rebuilt but coursing of stones perhaps indicates a cruck truss of which there is now no other evidence.
Interior: King-post truss without struts. Chamfered purlins.
